Navigating life after 40, I often find myself at a crossroads between physical changes and a deeper understanding of what it means to live fully. As a women of faith, I’m blessed with a blueprint that not only guides our spiritual walk but also shines a light on how to care for my body—the temple of the Holy Spirit.
I am sharing with you God’s perspective on creating Wholeness.
Did you know that your body is a living, breathing sanctuary? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us that our bodies are not just our own; they are a precious gift, a dwelling place for the divine. This realization can transform the way we view exercise, eating habits, and even our daily routines. It's not about the number on the scale or following the latest diet craze. It's about honoring this incredible gift we've been given.
Stewardship is a term we often hear about managing finances or resources, but it's just as applicable to our health. This might mean adopting habits that nourish our bodies and souls—choosing foods that fuel us, engaging in activities that strengthen us, and finding rest that rejuvenates us. It's about making choices that reflect our gratitude for the health we've been granted and our commitment to preserving it.
Let's talk about gluttony—not the most glamorous topic, but an important one. Our culture often encourages excess, but Proverbs 25:27 reminds us of the beauty of moderation. Enjoying the occasional indulgence is one of life's joys, yet finding balance is key. It’s about savoring those chocolatey delights and savory sensations without letting them control our joy or health.
Fasting has made a comeback, often touted for its health benefits. But sometimes , it holds a deeper meaning. It's a practice rooted in discipline, reflection, and purification. Whether it's giving up a certain type of food or meals at specific times, fasting can offer a time to refocus our hearts on what truly matters, beyond just the physical benefits.
We start to appreciate the harmony between our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Engaging in physical activities we love, whether it's a serene walk in nature, a lively dance class, or a quiet morning yoga session, becomes a form of worship and self-care. It's a time to listen to what our bodies need, granting them rest when weary and nourishment when depleted.
There's immense strength in community. Whether it's joining a health-focused group at church, participating in a walking club, or sharing healthy recipes with friends, embarking on this journey with others makes the path less daunting and more joyful.
As we journey through life, let's embrace the beauty of our temples, nurturing them with love, care, and grace. It's not just about adding years to our life, but life to our years, living each day with purpose and joy.

I own a small boutique fitness studio in Hermiston, Oregon home and also offer online options for workouts you can do anytime/anywhere that fits your schedule. I have been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2013 and have helped hundreds of women just like you with meaningful movement to enhance your life and your goals - nothing crazy - just functional fitness to fit your everyday life. Options are in person with Semi Private Training or a library of online workouts you can do at your convenience as I am a Partner with BODI (formerly Beachbody).
As a Functional Nutrition Counselor, Christian Health Mentor and Holistic Gut Health Practitioner - Nutrition - what I like to refer to as Culinary Medicine - is a starting point for many be it an 8 week NutrtionOS program (1:1 coaching included). 5 Week Nourished (Christ Centered Nutrtion in a Group Setting) or a Private 12 Week program specific to you (1:1 coaching, nutrition and exercise customized to you)

"Being on this journey has improved my health in such ways as being off one of my insulin meds and my A1C lowering from 8.1 to 6.4. Losing so far 30 lbs. It's not a diet it is a new way of eating to improve my overall health. I have never been a milk drinker so changing to Almond milk was no big change. I only use it in cooking and my shakes. If you can take anything from my journey it would be to not look at this as a diet. That has never worked for me. This time my mind knows tis is how we are eating from now on and I don't have this obstacle to push through. It's gone. So much easier to make these changes this time around. I will be at my goal weight eventually. And I am okay with that!"
